Project fights locust infestations
A locust plague threatened the livelihoods of 13 million people in a Sub-Saharan country, most of whom earn a living from agriculture. Left untreated, these locust infestations could wipe out food crops and livestock grazing lands. BGR partners focused on one area as a pilot project, in tandem with the National Anti-locust Center. The goal was to start small and perfect the working partnership so larger and more effective efforts could be pursued. Using Global Hunger Relief funds, farmers were to be trained regarding how to set up early warning systems against locusts, as well as how to effectively treat their fields. Pray for families helped by this project, that they would understand God's great love for them.
