BGR partners have been urgently working together with local church leaders to begin evaluations of the damage from Hurricane Dorian and to start relief efforts, despite precarious conditions.
Abaco and the majority of Grand Bahama are submerged underwater and high winds caused further damage to infrastructure. The current death toll stands at 43, but is expected to rise as recovery efforts continue. The road ahead will be arduous, now and many months, perhaps even years from now. Your prayers are needed for the people who must begin again, and for those who are assessing the needs and making plans for the recovery efforts.
- Pray for the assessment teams to have wisdom as they make plans to bring relief supplies to the worst-hit areas.
- Pray for churches and other BGR partners to know how best to minister to those affected by this storm.
- Pray that the people in the Bahamas will find hope and comfort in Christ in the middle of a situation that looks hopeless.
- Pray for volunteers to be led by the Spirit as they organize teams to assist in the relief and recovery.
Finally, help grow our team of praying volunteers. Forward this email to your friends, family, and church groups to join us in prayer for Dorian survivors in the days to come.
