Pray for children orphaned by AIDS

“And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.” Isaiah 58:10

It’s a devastating blow when a parent can no longer care for his or her child. Be it finances, health, or death, countless numbers of children find themselves at the mercy of others. In one Southeast Asian country, many children are orphaned by HIV/AIDS or have parents who cannot afford to care for them. These children frequently end up at Christian hostels and orphanages, where they receive the care they need.

Those who minister to these children work long, hard hours to cook, clean, and transport the children back and forth to school. For many of these children, a hot meal and a clean bed to sleep in are luxuries that they would not have were it not for those who show the love of Christ to them through their care. The children are also kept safe from human traffickers and others who would exploit them.

These caregivers often use their own money and other resources to house, clothe, and feed the children, though they often struggle to find adequate resources. BGR partners are helping to solve this problem by supplying rice and other basic staples so the children will have nourishing, hot meals. Without this help, many children would be turned away because of a lack of food supplies. Please pray for these children and those who care for them.

  • Ask God to supply these orphanages and hostels with enough money and resources to feed the children.
  • Pray the children will stay in good health and be protected from harm.
  • Pray for those who care for these children to have the wisdom, strength, and guidance they need.
  • Pray the children will know and experience the love of God through those who are caring for them.
