BGR Prayer Update:
Hurricane Response in the Caribbean

BGR partners in the Bahamas are still ministering to Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria survivors. Relief work has progressed slowly because all supplies must come from Miami. Boats are sporadic and don’t always visit the islands each week. Workers have encountered communication difficulties, as well, between the islands and the people who can help with recovery.

Recently, BGR partners trained Bahama Baptist Convention leaders in improved disaster response methods. These leaders are excited about how the training can help them support recovering communities more effectively. Please continue praying for relief and recovery efforts in the Caribbean.

  • Pray God will give wisdom to those coping with ongoing challenges after the storms.
  • Pray the people assisting relief and recovery efforts will see God at work in every situation.
  • Pray for the islands that still struggle to recover due to poor communication and very slow supply importation.
  • Pray those who recently received disaster relief training will use what they have learned effectively.
