Women in Sub-Saharan Africa spearhead grist mill project

Associated Project: SBC Global Hunger Relief

With BGR support, Christians in a Sub-Saharan country will soon run a community grist mill. Women in rural areas of this country have traditionally used grinding stones to prepare corn, millet and other grains for use in food, but the population of one village has grown so much that this has become impractical. Now, they must use grist mills, the closest of which is more than seven kilometers from their community. Women from a local church saw this need and began to act. They set up a committee and built a building to house the mill. BGR partners supplied the roof and the equipment. The project will serve multiple communities. Pray that through this mill, these villagers will hear Truth and understand the love of God.
