Winter storm makes life even harder for Syrian refugees

Associated Project: Syria Crisis

AMMAN, Jordan — Refugees continue to flood out of Syria and now a severe winter storm has complicated life for families struggling to survive.

The exodus of millions from Syria is pushing neighboring countries to a breaking point, according to news reports, and the bitter winter weather threatens many lives among refugees who live in the most marginal conditions. The United Nations recently made a record appeal for $6.5 billion to help displaced Syrians and countries that host refugees.

Syrian refugees are at the mercy of frigid temperatures in the tents and unheated houses where they are sheltering. They need warm blankets, heaters, and food supplies to help them survive the winter. BGR is assisting families who have fled the war, both inside Syria and in neighboring countries.

You can help Syrian refugees by donating to BGR’s Refugees snd IDPs Fund.
