Sema Leatherworks: Transition to independence

Pastors who start churches in Kenya must be bi-vocational so they can provide for their families. Sema Leatherworks was established to train young pastors with such skills, and now several of these pastors are ready to take the next step. BGR partners are helping them start their own businesses. Each business model is unique (tailoring, hand clothing, greenhouses, hair salon, soap making). In addition to four years of practical experience at Sema Leatherworks, the men have also attended seminars in community development and had several hours of one-on-one coaching as they prepared their business plans. Each man has developed a transition plan to move from employment at Sema Leatherworks to managing their own businesses in a way that provides for their family. Businesses that operate honestly and ethically provide a positive model for the rest of the communities. Pray for each of these men as they begin their new businesses.
