Baptist Global Response
BGR plans to replace a canal in Central Asia that was damaged by a large landslide last year. At the time, BGR provided funds to build emergency shelters for two houses that were destroyed, but an entire village also suffered water loss from the canal. In its current state, the structure only provides for a few houses and doesn’t deliver any drinking water at all during the winter. BGR partners will lay piping higher up a nearby mountainside, mostly outside the reach of floods and landslides. This new canal will also begin closer to the water source. It will carry a high capacity of water that will reach the entire village and allow for the cultivation of eight more hectares of land. The project will directly benefit approximately 250 people. Pray this canal will be a long-term solution to the village's water needs.
